Culture campaign launched
Maastricht Marketing is structurally committed to positioning Maastricht as a city of art and culture with the aim of stimulating the visitor economy and the business climate. Culture makes an important contribution to Maastricht's image as an attractive city to live, work, study and visit for several days. We communicate about culture throughout the year, but from 11 September to 16 November, the performing arts are once again in the spotlight during our culture campaign.
Stage for culture
The reason for choosing the performing arts theme this year is the 75th anniversary of the Maastricht Drama Academy on 26 October 2025. In addition to its cultural programmes, Maastricht has a unique and diverse range of theatre, music and dance offerings and we are happy to propagate that.
The aim of the campaign is to entice culture lovers to come to Maastricht for a cultural visit (call-to-action) and to link this to a multi-day stay. In particular, we target visitors from the Netherlands. Another important objective is to connect partners in the cultural field and thus jointly build on Maastricht's positioning as a city of art and culture (awareness).
Annex to NRC
Part of the campaign is a 20-page culture supplement in NRC. This appeared on Wednesday 10 September at 11pm in the digital edition for subscribers, and as a print version with Thursday 11 September's newspaper. A reprint of 10,000 copies will be distributed in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Eindhoven, Maastricht and other cities in Limburg.

Furthermore, A2 posters will be hung at busy locations in the Randstad and Limburg regions, think cafés and public buildings.
